The Magic of the New Moon
If you’ve been here for a while, you know how much I appreciate the New Moon. It’s this wonderful time of renewal and recommitment for me. This month the New Moon in Leo is no different. Leo is about passion, courage, love, and loyalty. It’s about making things happen on your own terms. It’s about harnessing the power from within. At the beginning of the new lunar month, you are offered the opportunity to believe and take action.
This new moon comes at the height of the summer. Temperatures are high. The weather is extreme. Something seems to be happening almost daily that is calling us to shift our way of thinking, understanding, and knowing. This new beginning in Leo is a reminder that this is the moment you’ve been waiting for. This is the time to have the courage for whatever you’re creating.
I saw this moment called a “time for taking a leap of faith”.
But, what does that really mean? If I’m taking a leap of faith, that means I am literally facing my fear. It means I have to trust in what I believe, as I’m believing it. And since it’s a leap, that means I am taking action. I’m not falling into faith, I’m leaping with faith. So, what do you need to take a leap of faith for this month?
This new moon in Leo is about loyalty to Self, and your passionate belief in your power. Remember the symbol for Leo is a lion. Generally speaking, a lion is considered to be confident. So, you must find confidence in Self and your ability to be successful in your actions. At a moment when something new is starting, and it’s all about you, it is vital to step into that place of receptivity with confidence in Self and worthiness to receive.
~ Here’s The Thing ~
If we are to utilize the Magic of the New Moon. That space of freshness and newness. The opportunity to begin anew, starts with believing you are worthy of whatever your intention is, having gratitude for the ideal outcome, making a plan and taking action believing in its success. When you begin each lunar month this way, you are able to keep lifting up your vision, and keeping it focused before you.
It is important to keep in mind that it really begins within. Your courage/support begins within. It always has. You’ve always had to decide within you before you have ever done anything. Even if you didn’t think about it a lot, you still chose before you acted. So, the gift of the new moon is the time to think and plan for action. It’s to take the wisdom of whatever has come before and start the next part of the journey.
Take some time today, or tomorrow at the latest, to decide where your passion is leading you this month. Decide that your faith in yourself is greater than the fear of the unknown. Decide that you are ready to have what you really want. Then get going!

Carnelian is the stone I have chosen to help you have courage, passion for your vision, and a belief in Self to take a leap of faith.

Uses: This is a great stone to start your day with. Take it in hand and repeat your affirmations daily, either the ones provided here or the ones you create. Light the fire in your belly. Remind your-Self that you believe in yourself and your abilities.
For the New Moon: Write down your affirmations and then recite them, holding your carnelian, as the new moon rises. Repeat them several times to really get the energy centered and focused with your stone. There is no right number here. This is your moon magic. Say it until it feels right. Then every time you see your carnelian repeat your affirmations. Focusing more specifically on beginning your day with this practice.
